To prevent fire hazards and the risk of  
injury:  
• The toaster parts may get hot when in  
use. Therefore, only touch the handle.  
• Bread can catch fire! Therefore, never  
put the toaster around flammable  
objects, especially flammable curtains.  
• Never cover the toaster when it is in  
use.

when it is in use.  
• Do not allow children or infirm  
persons to handle heatgenerating  
household appliances without super-  
vision. They may not always be able  
to correctly assess potential hazards.  
• Only use the toaster on a stable,  
nonslippery and flat surface.  
To avoid life-threatening electric shocks:  
• Never put cutlery or other metallic  
objects into the toaster slots.  
• Never allow the toaster to come into  
contact with water as long as the plug  
is in the socket. This applies especially  
if you use it in a kitchen near the sink.

4. Toaster description  
Caution: Do not press the slide  
upwards by hand. This may damage  
the mechanism.  
Roll attachment

Toasting dial  
STOP button  
Now pull the power plug out of  
the socket and allow the appliance  
to cool.  
Clean the appliance again as  
described under 8.  
5. Starting up  
Before starting up the appliance, make  
certain that ...

in good working order and...  
all packaging materials have been  
removed from the toaster.  
Put the slices of bread into the slots.  
Turn the toasting dial to the  
desired setting and ...  
press the slide downwards until  
it locks into place.

First clean the appliance as described  
under 8.  
As soon as the toast is done, the slide  
springs up by itself and the toaster  
switches off by itself.  
Heat up the toaster a couple of times  
to melt off any deposits on the heating  
wires. This usually produces a certain  
odour:  
Put the plug into the socket and  
turn the toasting dial to "7"  
Press the slide down until it  
locks into place.  
Press the STOP button to stop  
heating early. The slide springs up by  
itself and the toaster switches off.  
7. Toasting Rolls  
The toaster heats up for a few minutes.  
The slide springs up by itself and the  
toaster switches off.  
Press the STOP button to stop  
heating early. The slide springs up by  
itself and the toaster switches off.  
Attach the roll attachment to the  
toaster as shown.  
Now put your rolls on it and start  
toasting as described under 6. Set  
the toasting dial to maximum on  
level 5-6.  
You can remove the roll attachment  
as soon as it has cooled down.

Life-threatening danger of electrical  
shock:  
Let the toaster cool off completely  
before storing it.  
• Never open the toaster housing.  
There are no operating elements  
inside.  
Wind the power cable around the  
holder under the bottom of the  
toaster.  
• Never immerse the toaster com-  
ponents into water or other liquids!  
Store the appliance in a dry place.  
Before cleaning the appliance:  
Pull the power plug out from the  
power socket.  
Let the appliance cool off.  
Pull out the crumb tray on the side.  
Remove all the residual crumbs from  
bread and rolls.  
10. Disposal  
Do not throw the device in your  
normal domestic waste.  
Dispose of the appliance through an  
approved disposal centre or at your  
community waste facility.  
Warning: Bread may catch fire!  
Clean the toaster every time you  
use it to keep flammable crumbs  
from accumulating.  
Observe the currently applicable regula-  
tions. In case of doubt, please contact  
your waste disposal centre.  
Then clean all surfaces and the power  
cable with a slightly damp piece of  
cloth. Always dry the appliance well  
before using it again.  
Do not use cleaning agents or solvents.  
They may not only damage the toaster,  
but also leave residues in the next  
bread you toast.

In case of stubborn residues:  
Never use hard objects as aid  
Never stick any objects into the slots.  
You may damage the toaster by doing  
so.  
Instead, place a damp piece of cloth  
on the stubborn residues, in order to  
soften them.
